We believe athletes deserve clarity about what happens with their data — the same way they expect clarity from a coach or training plan. This Privacy Policy is our commitment to that transparency. It covers the MB Sleep Recovery mobile application and its companion website at athlete2271.com, both operated by MB Sleep Recovery developed by KAFI TOV ("we," "our," or "us").
The short version: MB Sleep Recovery is built to work entirely on your device. Your sleep logs, recovery scores, routine history, and personal notes never leave your phone. The few pieces of information we do handle are listed below in plain language, along with what you can do about each one.
You Are in Control
Before getting into the details, here is what is always within your reach:
- You can reset your advertising identifier or turn off ad personalization at any time in Android Settings → Google → Ads.
- You can clear the app's data or uninstall the app to remove the anonymous identifier and all locally stored information.
- You can turn the bedtime and morning reminders on or off from the in-app Settings screen, or revoke notification permission entirely from system settings.
- You can open the Privacy Policy and Support pages directly from the in-app Settings screen at any time.
- You can request information about the data we hold by writing to us using the contact details at the bottom of this page.
What Information We Handle
We have grouped the data into three buckets: things the app reads automatically, things the built-in browser is involved with, and things you actively choose to send us. Anything not listed here is not collected.
Information Collected Automatically
When you first open MB Sleep Recovery, a small amount of information is generated or read so the app can function and so we can understand which audiences are finding the app:
- Anonymous device identifier. The app generates a random identifier on first launch and stores it on your device. It is not tied to your name, email, or any account — it is simply a way for the app to recognize the same installation across launches. Clearing app data or uninstalling the app erases it.
- Device language and region setting. The app reads the language your device is set to so it can display content in a way that fits your locale.
- Google Advertising ID. The app reads the advertising identifier provided by Google Play Services. It is used for marketing attribution — that is, to understand which advertising campaign or source brought you to the app. You can reset this ID or opt out of personalized ads at any time in your device settings.
- Marketing attribution data. Information about how you discovered the app (for example, organic install, advertising campaign name, or install source) is recorded so we can understand which marketing efforts are working. This is handled by AppsFlyer, our marketing analytics provider.
Together with the items above, AppsFlyer also receives the anonymous device identifier and additional standard device information (such as device model, operating system version, and IP address) as part of its normal operation. You can review AppsFlyer's full data practices in their privacy policy.
The Built-in Browser Inside the App
The App includes a built-in browser used to display the Privacy Policy and the Support page directly within the App. The built-in browser does not collect any additional information beyond what is described above. Like any modern browser, it supports cookies (including third-party cookies), local storage, and database storage — these are managed by the websites you load through it, not by the app itself. Clearing the app's data also clears the built-in browser's cookies and storage.
Information You Send Us Through Support
The Support page (reachable from inside the app or directly on our website) includes a contact form. We only receive what you choose to type and submit:
- Your name and email address
- The message describing your question, feedback, or the issue you ran into
- An optional file attachment — you can take a photo or video using your device's camera, or pick an existing file (such as a screenshot, image, PDF, or text document) through your device's file picker
The app itself does not access your camera. When you tap the attachment field, your device's standard file chooser handles everything — including launching your camera app if you choose that option — and only the file you actually select is passed to the form. We use the information you submit solely to reply to your message and resolve the issue you reported.
What Stays Only on Your Device
Your sleep logs, recovery scores, body check-ins, routine history, reminder schedules, and personal notes are stored locally on your device using a combination of an on-device database and local preferences. None of this data is uploaded to a server, shared with us, or shared with any third party. It exists only on your phone, for your eyes.
You can wipe this information from the in-app Settings screen at any time, and uninstalling the app removes it completely.
Reminders You Schedule Yourself
If you turn on the bedtime or morning reminders, the app schedules notifications locally on your device using the Android system. These reminders are generated entirely on your phone — nothing is sent to a remote server, and we do not collect any information about whether you receive or open them. The notification permission can be revoked at any time in your device settings.
Why We Handle This Information
Each piece of data above has a specific job:
- The anonymous identifier and language setting let the app start up correctly and present content in a way that fits your device.
- The advertising identifier and attribution data help us understand which marketing channels actually reach athletes — it is how we measure whether our outreach is worth doing, not a tool for profiling you.
- Information you submit through the contact form is used only to answer you and fix the issue you reported.
- Your sleep, recovery, and routine data exists purely to power your in-app experience — the charts, the Recovery Score, and the Recovery Wheel recommendations.
Who Else Sees This Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else for marketing.
The only third party involved is AppsFlyer, which receives the marketing attribution data described above (advertising identifier, attribution source, campaign name, anonymous identifier, and standard device information). AppsFlyer is contractually bound to use this data only for the marketing analytics services they provide to us. You can read about their practices in their privacy policy.
If you submit a message through the contact form, the contents go only to our support inbox. We do not forward it elsewhere.
How Long Things Stick Around
Different items have different lifespans, but you can shorten any of them by clearing app data or uninstalling:
- Anonymous device identifier: stays on your device until app data is cleared or the app is uninstalled.
- Local sleep, recovery, and routine data: stays on your device until you delete it through the in-app Settings screen or uninstall the app.
- Cookies and local storage in the built-in browser: follow standard browser expiration rules and are cleared whenever you clear the app's data.
- Google Advertising ID: managed entirely by Google Play Services. You can reset it at any time in your device settings.
- AppsFlyer attribution data: retained by AppsFlyer according to their data retention policy.
- Support messages: retained in our support inbox only as long as needed to resolve your inquiry, and then deleted on a routine cycle.
How Your Information Is Protected
All network traffic between the app and our services is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections. The app does not transmit your sleep, recovery, or routine data over the network at all — it never leaves your device. We apply standard security practices to the data we do receive (such as the support inbox), but no system is perfect, and you should treat any sensitive personal details accordingly when contacting us.
This App Is Not for Children
MB Sleep Recovery is designed for adult athletes and active individuals. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us through the contact form, please write to us at the address below and we will delete it.
Updates to This Policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. For meaningful changes, we will also display the updated policy in the app's privacy acceptance flow before you continue using the app, so you can review what changed.
